Football Game Preview: Dallas Christian Chargers vs. Lubbock Christian Eagles

The Dallas Christian Chargers will face off against the Lubbock Christian Eagles at 7:23 a.m. on Friday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Dallas Christian comes in on seven and Lubbock Christian on eight.

Dallas Christian is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They breezed past Covenant to the tune of 49-7. Given the Chargers' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 221st, while the Knights are ranked 599th) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.

Dallas Christian can attribute much of their success to Luke Syvrud, who threw for 180 yards and three TDs while completing 78.6% of his passes. Syvrud's passing game has become a key predictor of the Chargers' success: the team is 8-1 when his passer rating is 110 or higher, but only 1-2 otherwise.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Lubbock Christian). They blew past Geneva 71-13 on Friday. The contest was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point Lubbock Christian had established a 51-point advantage.

Lubbock Christian's victory bumped their record up to 11-1. As for Dallas Christian, their win bumped their record up to 9-3.

Dallas Christian didn't have too much breathing room in their matchup against Lubbock Christian in their previous meeting back in November of 2024, but they still walked away with a 43-38 victory.
