Volleyball Recap: Tolman Wins Going Away Against Pilgrim

Tolman hadn't done well against Pilgrim recently (they were 0-3 in their previous three matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Monday. The Tigers blew past the Patriots 3-0. The Tigers were shut out 3-0 the last time they took on the Patriots, so the Tigers were just returning the favor.

The 3-0 score doesn't show just how dominant Tolman was: they took every set by at least 13 points. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-12, 25-12, 25-11.

Hayson Ortiz paced Tolman's offense, picking up six kills. Ortiz got some help from Jean-Lucas Barroso and his 13 assists. Barroso also made an impact serving: he shared the team lead in aces with Bryan Leon, racking up three apiece.

The win got Tolman back to even at 1-1. As for Pilgrim, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-3.

Tolman has already played their next matchup, a 3-0 victory against South Kingstown on the 9th. As for Pilgrim, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-0 loss against West Warwick on the 9th.
