Softball Game Preview: Shelbyville Dragons vs. Timpson Bears

The Shelbyville Dragons will challenge the Timpson Bears at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Timpson took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Shelbyville, who comes in off a win.

Timpson will be up against a hot Shelbyville team: the squad just extended their winning streak to three. Shelbyville never let Broaddus get on the board and left with a 9-0 win on Wednesday.

Shelbyville let Carsey Lovell and Kylie Snell run wild. Lovell went 1-for-3 with one home run and two runs, while Snell scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-3. Cadee Harley was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-2.

Meanwhile, Timpson's undefeated season came to an end after 13 games on Tuesday. They came up short against Joaquin, falling 15-0. The Bears were red-hot at the plate heading into the game (they scored no less than ten runs in the three matches prior), but the Rams' pitchers proved too tough.

Shelbyville's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-7. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games. As for Timpson, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 13-1.

Shelbyville came out on top in a nail-biter against Timpson when the teams last played back in May of 2024, sneaking past 3-2. Will Shelbyville repeat their success, or does Timpson have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
