The Antelope Titans will head out to face off against the McClatchy Lions at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.
Antelope was handed a heart-breaking two-run defeat in their last game, but they sure didn't let that happen against Cordova on Tuesday. The Titans blew past the Lancers 15-5. The Titans might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won three matchups by ten runs or more this season.
Layla Kelly made a big impact no matter where she played. She pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Kelly was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 1-for-3.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Jillian Todd, who went 2-for-4 with four RBI, two doubles, and one run. Those two doubles gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Deanna Richardson, who scored two runs and stole two bases while getting on base in three of her five plate appearances.
Antelope hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Cordova struck out six times.
Meanwhile, McClatchy had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 3.5 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Tuesday. They were the clear victors by a 12-1 margin over the Pacers. With that victory, the Lions brought their scoring average up to 6.4 runs per game.
Jayeliza Rogers was incredible, scoring three runs while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances. Ciara Arias also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.
McClatchy's win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 9-3. Those road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.8 runs on average over those games. As for Antelope, their record now sits at 4-2.
Thursday's contest might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Antelope has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .556. However, it's not like McClatchy struggles in that department as they've averaged .449. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
