Riverside-Durham had to skate by with only a one-set margin when they last took the court, which might have inspired the three-set drubbing they dealt Hillside on Wednesday. The Pirates blew past the Hornets 3-0. The Pirates haven't had any issues with the Hornets recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive win against them.

Not only was the match a shutout, it was a big one: Riverside-Durham took every set by at least 14 points. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-9, 25-11, 25-10.

Leading Riverside-Durham to victory were Nureen Khan and Liesl Rehder. Khan had 15 digs and five assists, while Rehder had 16 assists and two aces. Those 16 assists gave Rehder a new career-high.
