Corner Canyon is preparing for their first region matchup of the season on Tuesday. They will head out on the road to square off against the Copper Hills Grizzlies at 3:30 p.m. Corner Canyon is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9 runs per game this season.
Corner Canyon's pitching crew heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. They were the clear victors by a 19-0 margin over Ogden.
Lincoln Eure made a splash while hitting and pitching. He tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one hit in three consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-3.

In other pitching news, Dallon Stokes looked comfortable as he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has become a key player for Corner Canyon: the team is undefeated when he allows at most three hits, but 3-4 otherwise.
Back at the plate, Corner Canyon got a massive performance out of Garrett Downing, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with four runs, four RBI, and one double. That's the most hits Downing has posted since back in March of 2024. Nathan Horstmann was another key player, scoring three runs while getting on base in all five of his plate appearances.
Corner Canyon kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. They are a perfect 4-0 when they post 11 or more hits.
Meanwhile, Copper Hills was not able to break out of their rough patch last Wednesday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They came up short against Lone Peak, falling 11-4.
Copper Hills saw eight different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Trevor Nay, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one double. Sam Stringam also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.
Copper Hills' defeat dropped their record down to 2-8. As for Corner Canyon, their record now sits at 6-4.
Copper Hills' pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Corner Canyon hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .362. It's a different story for Copper Hills, though, as they've only averaged .240. Will they be able to contain Corner Canyon's hitters?
Corner Canyon took their victory against Copper Hills when the teams last played back in May of 2024 by a conclusive 12-6 score. Will the Chargers repeat their success, or do the Grizzlies have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
