It was a good run, but the Calvary Christian Lions unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Thursday. They fell 60-48 to Mount Airy Christian Academy. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Calvary Christian has scored all season.
Joey Stanton continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Mount Airy Christian Academy, scoring 26 points along with six rebounds and four blocks. Stanton continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Brady Shinabery, who scored 11 points.
Calvary Christian's loss dropped their record down to 4-1. As for Mount Airy Christian Academy, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 7-1.
Calvary Christian will be playing at home against South Amboy at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. South Amboy has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. Mount Airy Christian Academy won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Veritas Christian Academy at 3:30 p.m. on December 29, 2023. Veritas Christian Academy will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in their respective state's rankings (they are ranked 218th in New Jersey, while Mount Airy Christian Academy is ranked 51st in Maryland).
