Soccer Recap: Brawley vs. Central
Brawley lost against Central back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Brawley Wildcats fell just short of the Central Spartans by a score of 4-3. While losing is never fun, the Wildcats can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 322nd, while the Spartans are ranked 65th).
Diego Padilla and Ian Zuniga scored all three of Brawley's goals, bringing their combined season tally to 36 goals.
Brawley's defeat dropped their record down to 14-8-2. As for Central, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 19-2-3.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Brawley will venture away from home to take on Holtville at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Brawley's last three matchups have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one. As for Central, they will head out on the road to challenge Calexico at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
