Baseball Game Preview: North Myrtle Beach Chiefs vs. Carolina Forest Panthers

For the second straight game, North Myrtle Beach will face off against Carolina Forest. The Chiefs will be playing in front of their home fans against the Panthers at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (North Myrtle Beach 1.9, Carolina Forest 2.7) so any runs scored will be well earned.

North Myrtle Beach's pitching crew heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Wednesday. They walked away with a 4-0 victory over Carolina Forest.

The result came thanks to Gabe Priest's shutout, as he gave up just four hits and racked up seven Ks. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in five consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Asa Board, who scored a run and stole three bases while going 2-for-3. The team also got some help courtesy of Brown Reaves, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-2.

North Myrtle Beach is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine games. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-3 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.8 runs on average over those games. As for Carolina Forest, their loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 9-4.
