            Softball Recap: Kingswood Knights vs. Merrimack Valley Pride        
        
		
        
        
            Kingswood proved they can win big  on Wednesday (they won by 17) and  on Friday they proved they can win the close ones too. They had just enough and edged out the Merrimack Valley Pride  9-7. The  win was familiar territory for the Knights, who have now won four  contests in a row.
 Hayden M spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered seven  runs (all of which were unearned)  on two hits. She has been consistent: she hasn't  given up  more than two  hits any time she's  pitched this season.
 At the plate,  Rheegan S was  excellent,  going 2-for-3 with two  RBI and one  run.  Sophie F also deserves some recognition as  she  hit her first  double of the season.
 They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Kingswood  kept the outfield on their toes and  finished the game with 11  hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now  got at least 11  hits in four consecutive  matchups.

Kingswood's victory was  their 11th straight at home dating back to last season, which  pushed their record up to 4-1. The  home  wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.2 runs on average over those games. As for Merrimack Valley, their  defeat was their first of the  season and  makes their record 3-1.
