Basketball Game Preview: Saucon Valley Panthers vs. Lehighton Indians

Having just played yesterday, the Saucon Valley Panthers will head out on the road to face off against the Lehighton Indians at 6:45 p.m. on Tuesday. Saucon Valley will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.

On Monday, Saucon Valley didn't have too much breathing room in their match against Jim Thorpe, but they still walked away with a 45-40 victory. Given the Panthers' advantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 283rd, while the Olympians are ranked 679th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Lehighton unfortunately witnessed the end of their nine-game winning streak on Monday. They had to suffer through a 69-40 loss at the hands of Catasauqua. The contest marked the Indians' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Saucon Valley has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 9-4 record this season. As for Lehighton, their defeat ended an eight-game streak of away wins and brought them to 12-2.

Everything came up roses for Saucon Valley against Lehighton when the teams last played back in February of 2016, as the squad secured a 76-45 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Saucon Valley since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
