Flag Football Game Preview: Foothill Mustangs vs. Florin Panthers + How To Watch

Foothill is 0-3 against Florin since September of 2024 but things could change on Monday. The Mustangs will host the Panthers at 7:00 p.m. The two teams have allowed few points on average (Foothill 14.1, Florin 14.9) so any points scored will be well earned.

Foothill's offense might be in the hot seat on Monday considering what happened against Johnson on Wednesday. They came up short against the Warriors, falling 20-0. While losing is never fun, the Mustangs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California flag football rankings (they are ranked 637th, while the Warriors are ranked 274th).

Meanwhile, Florin had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 13.5 points) and they went ahead and made it five on Wednesday. They blew past the Royals 38-6. The Panthers pushed the score to 32-6 by the end of the third, a deficit the Royals had little chance of recovering from.

Florin had a senior duo take command as Jayda Lewis threw for 118 yards and four touchdowns and Zavanna Payne picked up 71 receiving yards and three scores. Janiya Brister made the highlight reel by snagging an interception and taking it all the way to the house.

Florin didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. Brister picked up that interception and then proceeded to rub salt in the wound by taking it back the other way for a touchdown. She got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

Foothill now has a losing record of 8-9. As for Florin, they now have a winning record of 10-9.
