Softball Recap: Newton Takes a Loss

Newton lost against Grovetown back in September and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Rams lost 9-1 to the Warriors. The Rams have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Newton saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Raegan McKnight, who went 1-for-2 with one run and one double. That hit was McKnight's first of the season.

Newton's defeat dropped their record down to 13-11. As for Grovetown, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 22-5 record this season.

While Newton had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair will be back at it again later today.
