East Syracuse-Minoa took a six-run loss the last time they faced off against Fayetteville-Manlius, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Spartans sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with an 8-7 win over the Hornets on Monday. This was payback for the Spartans, who suffered a 17-11 defeat the last time these two teams met.

The victory got East Syracuse-Minoa back to even at 1-1. As for Fayetteville-Manlius, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-2.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. East Syracuse-Minoa will face off against Oswego at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. This will be the Spartans' first chance to prove their worth in the conference. As for Fayetteville-Manlius, they will be playing at home against Rome Free Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
