Baseball Recap: Cromwell's Run of Three Straight Wins Now Over

If Cromwell was riding high fresh off their 7-0 takedown of Middletown on Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Panthers fell 7-4 to the Portland Highlanders on Wednesday. The Panthers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Highlanders apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.

Cromwell saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jess Elfreich, who went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases and two RBI. Evan Ucol was another, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base and one run.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Cromwell will square off against North Branford at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Portland, they will take on Old Saybrook at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
