Basketball Recap: Novi HomeSchool vs. Fort Wayne HomeSchool Hawks
It was a good run, but Novi HomeSchool unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Saturday. They took a 92-81 hit to the loss column at the hands of Fort Wayne HomeSchool. Novi HomeSchool was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Hawks apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in December of 2023.
Trevon Maley continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Fort Wayne HomeSchool, going 9 for 15 from beyond the arc en route to 36 points and 2 assists. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Maley has scored all season. Sam Newcomer was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 21 points and 13 rebounds.
Novi HomeSchool's loss dropped their record down to 13-4. As for Fort Wayne HomeSchool, they are on a roll lately: they've won 15 of their last 16 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 27-3 record this season.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Novi HomeSchool will take on the Jaguars at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Christ the King will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Michigan Rankings (they are ranked 281st, while the are ranked 76th). As for Fort Wayne HomeSchool, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against the SONS at 7:00 p.m. Anderson HomeSchool knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past seven matchups -- so hopefully the Hawks like a good challenge.
