Football Game Preview: Alliance Bulldogs vs. Chadron Cardinals

Alliance hasn't had much luck against Chadron recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Bulldogs will take on the Cardinals at 7:00 p.m.

Alliance is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 46 points last Friday, they were much more limited against Lexington on Friday. They fell 14-8 to the Minutemen.

Trini Trejo put forth a good effort for the losing side as he rushed for 144 yards.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Chadron). They claimed a resounding 49-6 victory over Chase County. The team's explosion on offense also rewarded the Cardinals with their most commanding win of the season.

Alliance better keep an eye on Jayce Hoffman. He was instrumental in Chadron's win, rushing for 79 yards and three TDs on only eight carries. Those three rushing touchdowns gave Hoffman a new career-high.

Wins are hard to come by when you can't run the rock, something Chadron proved: they limited Chase County to a paltry 0.8 yards per carry. The team can thank Bricen Wright for the heroic effort on defense: he. Chadron didn't have any issues in that department, having averaged 6.3.

The win made it two in a row for Chadron and bumps their season record up to 5-1. The victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 20 points in those games. As for Alliance, their loss dropped their record down to 3-3.

Alliance was dealt a bruising 54-12 defeat at the hands of Chadron in their previous matchup back in October of 2024. Thankfully for the Bulldogs, Quinn Bailey (who rushed for 222 yards and five scores while picking up 13.9 yards per carry) won't be suiting up this time.
