Softball Recap: Moriah Vikings vs. Saranac Lake Red Storm
Moriah was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They lost 19-4 to the Saranac Lake Red Storm. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Red Storm this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 13-3 back in April.
Izzy Slattery made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and went a perfect 2-for-2 with three RBI and one double. That double marked the first that she has hit this season.
Moriah's loss dropped their record down to 2-13. As for Saranac Lake, their win ended a seven-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 2-8.
Coming up, Moriah will challenge North Warren Central at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Saranac Lake, they will square off against Saranac at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Red Storm's pitchers better be ready for this one: the Chiefs have averaged an impressive 9.5 runs per game this season.
