Basketball Recap: McAllen Bulldogs vs. Sharyland Rattlers
The McAllen Bulldogs's game last Tuesday was a tough loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They walked away with a 45-32 win over Sharyland. That's another feather in the cap for McAllen, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Sharyland's loss came despite strong showings from Mariajose Campos and Mia Bargas. Campos scored 16 points along with three steals, while Bargas scored five points along with seven rebounds and three steals. Campos has been hot recently, having posted three or more steals the last four times she's played.
McAllen's win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 18-17. As for Sharyland, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-23.
McAllen will head out on the road to face off against the Tigers at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Valley View comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 21 points in their last 15 games, a trend the team is of course eager to reverse. As for Sharyland, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against the Diamondbacks at 6:00 p.m. Pioneer presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than the Rattlers in Texas (the Diamondbacks are ranked 446th, while the Rattlers are ranked 1142nd).
