Basketball Recap: Lakeland Comes Up Short

Lakeland lost against King's Fork two weeks ago and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Lakeland Cavaliers had to suffer through a 62-29 loss at the hands of the King's Fork Bulldogs. While losing is never fun, the Cavaliers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked 195th, while the Bulldogs are ranked 17th).

Despite the loss, Lakeland still got an impressive performance from Aubrianna Paiz, who posted 12 points and three steals. Paiz continues to improve, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played.

Lakeland is on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-10. As for King's Fork, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 10-3.

Lakeland is taking a road trip to take on First Colonial at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Lakeland is facing First Colonial at the right time seeing as First Colonial is stuck on a six-game losing streak. As for King's Fork, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Indian River at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
