Football Recap: Fleming Island Starts off Right with Win over Westside

Fleming Island gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Friday. They took their game with ease, bagging a 42-0 victory over the Westside Wolverines. Given the Golden Eagles' advantage in MaxPreps' Florida football rankings (they are ranked 90th, while the Wolverines are ranked 395th) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Fleming Island will square off against Clay at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Westside, they will be defending their home field for the first time this season when they go up against Middleburg at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
