Amesbury found their leader in underclassman Celia Tavares, who scored 20 points. That's the first time this season that Tavares scored 15 or more points. Ellison Talbot was another key contributor, scoring nine points.
Amesbury's win bumped their record up to 2-3. As for Fitchburg, they bumped their record down to 1-1 with that loss, which was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season.
Amesbury will take on Georgetown at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Fitchburg, they will look to defend their home court on Wednesday against Worcester Tech at 7:00 p.m.
