Soccer Game Preview: McGehee vs. Benjamin Franklin

McGehee is probably headed into the match with a chip on their shoulder considering Academy of the Sacred Heart just ended the team's four-game winning streak on Friday. They lost 3-0 to the Cardinals. While getting shut out isn't ideal, the Hawks haven't been shut out since back in December of 2024.

Meanwhile, Benjamin Franklin waltzed into their contest on Friday with six straight wins... but they left with seven. They were the clear victor by a 5-1 margin over the Swamp Owls. The result was nothing new for the Falcons, who have now won six games by three goals or more so far this season.

Benjamin Franklin has also been performing well recently as they've won eight of their last ten matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 11-8 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 39 goals over those ten contests. As for McGehee, their defeat was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 4-1-1 and their overall record down to 7-8-1.

McGehee suffered a grim 5-1 defeat to Benjamin Franklin in their previous matchup back in January of 2024. Can McGehee avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
