Preview: Osborne Cardinals vs. Walton Raiders
Osborne is 0-5 against Walton since November of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Osborne Cardinals will head out on the road to face off against the Walton Raiders at 6:00 p.m. Osborne is coming into the contest on a four-game losing streak.
Last Tuesday, Osborne had to suffer through a rough 81-31 loss at the hands of Cherokee. Osborne was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 44-19.
Despite their loss, Osborne saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Nia Morgan, who scored 11 points along with two steals, was perhaps the best of all. That was a full 35.5% of Osborne's points, marking the seventh time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Maliya Washington, who scored 14 points.
Meanwhile, Walton came up short against North Cobb on Tuesday and fell 40-31.
Like Osborne, Walton lost despite seeing results from several players. Graycen Ehlen led the charge by scoring eight points along with two steals. Kate Bagley was another key contributor, scoring seven points along with two steals.
Osborne has been struggling recently as they've lost eight of their last nine matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-10 record this season. As for Walton, their loss dropped their record down to 11-13.
Osborne took a serious blow against Walton when the teams last played back in January, falling 68-31. The game was all but decided by halftime, at which point Osborne was down 41-10.
