Softball Recap: Clark Cougars vs. Churchill Chargers
If Clark was feeling good fresh off their 16-0 takedown of LEE last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Cougars fell 11-7 to the Churchill Chargers on Tuesday. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Chargers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 15-13 back in March.

Madyson Martinez was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 4-for-4. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last nine games she's played. Another player making a difference was Alyna Marrufo, who scored a run while going 1-for-2.
Clark's defeat dropped their record down to 7-12. As for Churchill, they have been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-13-1 record this season.
We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Clark is set to challenge their familiar foe Madison at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Churchill will face off against rival Brandeis at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
