Softball Recap: North White's Losing Streak Is a Thing of the Past

North White never let their opponents score on Saturday. They blew past the Triton Trojans 12-0. That 12 run margin sets a new team best for the Vikings this season.

Kaylyn Applegate was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit while striking out 11 over five innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in seven consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going a perfect 2-for-2 with three runs, one triple, and one double.

In other batting news, North White got a massive performance out of Adriann Conn, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. Another player making a difference was Morgan Carter, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with three runs, three RBI, and two doubles.

The victory snapped North White's losing streak at five games and leaves them with a 4-6 record. As for Triton, they dropped their record down to 0-10 with the loss, which was their 14th straight on the road dating back to last season.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: North White beat the Trojans by a score of 15-14 later that day.
