Basketball Recap: Lamar Takes Loss Despite Strong Performances from Chloe Weber and Brooklyn Robbins

Lamar was the 47-29 winner over Sterling when they last played one another back in February of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. The Lamar Thunder took a 32-25 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Sterling Tigers on Saturday. The game marked the Thunder's lowest-scoring match so far this season.

Lamar's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Brooklyn Robbins, who posted 13 points and seven boards, and Chloe Weber, who had eight points and six rebounds. That was a full 52% of Lamar's points, marking the fifth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.

Lamar's defeat dropped their record down to 4-2. As for Sterling, they now have a winning record of 3-2.

Lamar and Salida will compete for holiday cheer at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Salida is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 54.8 points per game this season. As for Sterling, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 50-44 loss against Platte Valley on the 17th.
