Volleyball Recap: Corner Canyon Comes Up Short in High-Profile Game with Mountain Ridge

Corner Canyon faced Mountain Ridge in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Thursday. The Chargers came up short against the Sentinels, falling 3-0. The Chargers were not able to make up for their loss to the Sentinels from their previous meeting back in May of 2024.

The match finished with set scores of 25-20, 25-19, 25-16.

Robert Muse paced Corner Canyon's offense, picking up eight kills. Muse got some help from Archer Burke and his 21 assists.

This is the second loss in a row for Corner Canyon and nudges their season record down to 8-6. Admittedly, the team was facing some tough opposition over that stretch, including 8-4 Bingham (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 77.1% over those games). As for Mountain Ridge, the win was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 14-2.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Corner Canyon is set to square off against their familiar foe Riverton at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Mountain Ridge will challenge rival Bingham at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
