Preview: Carlin vs. Independence
After having trouble last week, things aren't likely to get any easier for Independence. It takes on Carlin this Friday at 7:00 PM. Neither team wants a repeat from last game, where each was handed a considerable defeat.
The result of Independence's previous contest was disheartening but, based on state rankings, not too surprising. It simply didn't have it two weeks ago, losing 52 - 0 to Pahranagat Valley. Things were already looking bleak at the break as Independence was down 44 - 0.
As for Carlin, after flying high the game before (30 points), it faltered in its previous match. Pahranagat Valley delivered Carlin a harsh 62 - 6 defeat last week. The offensive line was plagued by an aggressive Pahranagat Valley defense that sacked the quarterback five times.
After their losses, Independence dropped to 0-2 and Carlin dropped to 1-3. Neither Carlin nor Independence managed to put together many points in its previous game, so their meeting could be a low-scoring affair. We'll find out on Friday which team can eke out a win.
