Baseball Recap: Stagg Picks Up Third Consecutive Win

Stagg won against Crete-Monee on Friday with 12 runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Saturday. The Chargers were the clear victors by a 12-5 margin over the Reavis Rams. The Chargers have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Rams, too.

The victory was the third in a row for Stagg, bringing their record up to 8-10. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.7 runs on average over those games. As for Reavis, their defeat ended a six-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 17-7.

Looking ahead, Stagg is taking a road trip to square off against Lincoln-Way East at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The Griffins' pitching crew has only allowed 2.2 runs per game this season, so the Chargers' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Reavis, they will look to defend their home field on Monday against Shepard at 4:30 p.m.
