Volleyball Recap: DeKalb Comes Up Short

DeKalb was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They lost 3-0 to the Woodlan Warriors.

DeKalb was held off the scoreboard, but that almost wasn't the case: they kept the third set very close. The match finished with set scores of 25-11, 25-10, 25-23.

Woodlan found their leader in sophomore Nathan Culler, who had 16 assists.

DeKalb's loss dropped their record down to 2-23. As for Woodlan, their victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 7-14.

The two teams are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. DeKalb will square off against Leo at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. After both having extra time off, Woodlan and Fort Wayne Concordia Lutheran will shake off the rust and duke it out at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
