Volleyball Game Preview: Gilroy Mustangs vs. Live Oak Acorns

Gilroy has won four straight games at home, while Live Oak has won four straight on the road, but those streaks won't matter much on Wednesday. The Mustangs will welcome the Acorns at 7:00 p.m. After the two teams made easy work of their previous opponents, one won't be so lucky on Wednesday.

On Monday, Gilroy got the win against San Jose by a conclusive 3-0. The victory continues a trend for the Mustangs in their matchups with the Bulldogs: they've now won four in a row.

The 3-0 score doesn't really reflect how close the match was: every set was decided by three points or less. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-22, 25-23, 25-23.

Meanwhile, Live Oak made easy work of Mt. Pleasant on Monday and carried off a 3-0 win.

The match finished with set scores of 25-20, 25-15, 25-15.

Live Oak has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 17 of their last 18 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 20-6 record this season. As for Gilroy, their victory bumped their record up to 11-13.
