Baseball Game Preview: Glen Allen Jaguars vs. Godwin Eagles

The Glen Allen Jaguars will face off against the Godwin Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Glen Allen 3.9, Godwin 2.9) so any runs scored will be well earned.

Glen Allen is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They put the hurt on J.R. Tucker with a sharp 16-2 victory on Tuesday. The team's explosion at the plate also rewarded the Jaguars with their most commanding win of the season.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Godwin, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Monday. Their pitchers stepped up to hand Caroline a 4-0 shutout on Friday.

The team relied heavily on Eli Macturk, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run and two RBI.

Godwin pushed their record up to 8-2 with the win, which was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.4 runs on average over those games. As for Glen Allen, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-3 record this season.

Glen Allen might still be hurting after the 10-0 defeat they got from Godwin when the teams last played back in May of 2024. Can the Jaguars avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
