Softball Recap: Centennial Picks Up Third Consecutive Win

Centennial entered their tilt with Wilde Lake on Tuesday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They were the clear victors by a 19-1 margin over the Wildecats. The result was nothing new for the Eagles, who have now won four matches by six runs or more so far this season.

Lauren Jensen was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, getting on base in both of her plate appearances with two runs and one RBI. That RBI marked the first that she has brought in this season.

In other batting news, Centennial let Layla Schroyer and Maddie Reese run wild. Schroyer went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs, while Reese went a perfect 4-for-4 with five RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. That home run was Schroyer's first of the season. The team also got some help courtesy of Julia Braganca, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

Centennial always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .727. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their OBP total in three consecutive contests.

Centennial's record is now 6-4. As for Wilde Lake, their defeat was their 12th straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-5.
