Softball Recap: Fort Payne Takes a Loss

Fort Payne was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their ninth straight loss dating back to last season. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 5-4 heartbreaker at the hands of Scottsboro. If Fort Payne was looking for revenge after losing 17-2 to Scottsboro when the teams met back in April of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Cory Kramer made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored a run while going 2-for-3. That run was her first of the season.

Fort Payne's record is now 0-6. As for Scottsboro, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 3-0.

Coincidentally, Fort Payne and Scottsboro will both be playing Guntersville the next time they take the field. Scottsboro will host Guntersville at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday, while Fort Payne will host them at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
