Softball Recap: Cuba/Spoon River Valley Victorious

While Cuba/Spoon River Valley's win against Monmouth-Roseville wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Wildcats narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the Titans 4-3. The Wildcats haven't had any issues with the Titans recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.

Kacie White made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out nine batters over six innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off four hits. Those nine strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Ashlyn Ball, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one stolen base and one RBI. Those three hits gave her a new career-high.

Cuba/Spoon River Valley's victory bumped their record up to 15-10. As for Monmouth-Roseville, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 6-20.

As of now, neither Cuba/Spoon River Valley nor the Titans have any future games scheduled.
