Baseball Game Recap: Wayne County War Eagles vs. Stone Tomcats

Wayne County extended their losing streak to 14 on Friday, dropping them down to 8-20. They might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 9-4 to the Stone Tomcats, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior. Unfortunately, that's the fourth time they've come up short against the Tomcats this season, with their most recent defeat being a 9-4 loss on Friday.

As for Stone, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 17-12. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.8 runs over those games.

For Stone's part, the team relied heavily on Kellan Burge, who went 3-for-4 with one home run and three RBI. Those three RBI gave Burge a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Nolan Scott, who went 2-for-3 with one home run and two runs.

As of now, neither Wayne County nor Stone have any future games scheduled.
