Soccer Game Preview: Warrior Run vs. Midd-West

Warrior Run is 1-9 against Midd-West since September of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Monday. The Defenders will challenge the Mustangs at 7:00 p.m. Midd-West took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Warrior Run, who comes in off a win.

Warrior Run will roll into the match after a wild two-game stretch: they only put up one goal on Monday, then bounced right back against Shamokin Area on Wednesday. The Defenders put the hurt on the Indians with a sharp 6-1 victory. The win continues a trend for Warrior Run in their matchups with Shamokin Area: they've now won eight in a row.

Warrior Run hit Shamokin Area with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Ori Kennel (4), Ryan Kemock, and Gideon Kennel.

Meanwhile, while it was all tied up 1-1 at halftime, Midd-West was not quite Central Mountain's equal in the second half on Wednesday. They fell just short of the Wildcats by a score of 2-1. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as Midd-West came into the contest with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania soccer rankings (they are ranked 25th, while Central Mountain are ranked 134th).

Warrior Run's victory bumped their record up to 8-6-1. As for Midd-West, their defeat was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 6-1-1 and their overall record down to 13-2-1.

Warrior Run suffered a grim 4-0 defeat to Midd-West in their previous meeting back in October of 2024. Can the Defenders avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
