Soccer Game Preview: Granger vs. Cyprus

The Granger Lancers will head out to face off against the Cyprus Pirates at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Granger will be looking to extend their current eight-game winning streak.

Granger's defense heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. Everything went their way against Hunter as they made off with a 3-0 win. Granger might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won ten games by three goals or more this season.

Meanwhile, Cyprus lost 5-1 to Kearns on Tuesday. Cyprus were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 4-0.

Granger's victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-3. Those home wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 26 goals over those five contests. As for Cyprus, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-7 record this season.

Everything went Granger's way against Cyprus in their previous meeting back in April, as Granger made off with a 4-0 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Lancers since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
