Recap: Morro Bay Pirates vs. Atascadero Greyhounds
The Morro Bay Pirates lost against the Atascadero Greyhounds back in May of 2021, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Morro Bay fell 46-38 to Atascadero. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Morro Bay in their matchups with Atascadero: they've now lost three in a row.
Despite the loss, Morro Bay still got an impressive performance from Justin Campbell, who scored 14 points. The contest was Campbell's fifth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Sergio Mendoza, who scored ten points.
Morro Bay's defeat dropped their record down to 6-6. As for Atascadero, their victory ended a four-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 5-7.
Morro Bay and San Luis Obispo Classical Academy will round out the year against one another at 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday at. San Luis Obispo Classical Academy is hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses. As for Atascadero, they will take on Madera at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
