Baseball Recap: Hawley Snags Eighth Win in Last Nine Games

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Hawley had no problem doing just that on Saturday. They skirted past the Christoval Cougars 1-0. Give the Bearcats' pitching crew some credit: that's the team's third straight shutout.

Hawley's win was truly a team effort as six different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Drew Siller, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.

Hawley is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-6-1 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.9 runs over those games. As for Christoval, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 16-10.

Looking ahead, Hawley will challenge New Home on Saturday. The Bearcats will need to watch out since the Leopards have now posted at least ten runs in their last seven games. Christoval does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
