Soccer Recap: Desert Vista Falls Short Against Ranked Liberty

On Saturday, Desert Vista faced Liberty in a battle between two of the state's top teams. The Desert Vista Thunder fell 4-2 to the Liberty Lions. The Thunder have been going strong on the season, but this is now their second loss in a row.

Desert Vista's defeat dropped their record down to 7-3-3. As for Liberty, the victory was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 9-1.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Desert Vista will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Browne at 7:00 p.m. on January 8th. Liberty will also get a bit of a break before their next game: they'll face off against Cibola at 6:00 p.m. on January 10th. Liberty is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 3.1 goals per game this season.
