 On Saturday, Columbus faced Conrad in a battle between two of the state's top teams. The Columbus Cougars won by a  run and slipped past the Conrad Cowboys  11-10. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for Columbus considering their one-run performance the  contest before.
 For Conrad's part,  Presley Naylor and  Zoey Pogreba did some serious damage despite the final result:  Naylor  scored four  runs and  stole a base while going 2-for-4, while  Pogreba  went 2-for-4 with a  home run, two  runs,  and two  RBI. Another player making a difference was  Evagelene Denzer, who  went 3-for-5 with four  RBI and a  run.
 Columbus has  been performing  well recently as they've  won three of their last four matchups,  which provided a nice bump to their 7-4 record  this season. As for Conrad,  this is  the second loss in a row for them and  nudges their season record down to 5-7.
 Both  teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Columbus will  square off against Huntley Project at 4:00  p.m.  on Tuesday. As for Conrad, they are on the road again  on Friday to play Manhattan at 2:00  p.m. Manhattan will roll in looking for their  fifth straight  victory, something Conrad surely won't give up without a fight.
