Baseball Recap: North Vermillion Takes a Loss

North Vermillion was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their 15th straight defeat dating back to last season. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-1 heartbreaker at the hands of the Fountain Central Mustangs. The Falcons were not able to make up for their loss to the Mustangs from their previous meeting back in May of 2024.

North Vermillion saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Andrew Botner, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.

North Vermillion's record now sits at 0-10. As for Fountain Central, their victory ended a nine-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-9.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: the Mustangs beat North Vermillion by a score of 10-7 later that day.
