Baseball Game Preview: Timber Creek Wolves vs. Bishop Moore Hornets

The Timber Creek Wolves will face off against the Bishop Moore Hornets at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Timber Creek's pitching crew has only allowed 3.5 runs per game this season, so Bishop Moore's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Timber Creek took a loss when they played away from home on Wednesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Thursday. They had just enough and edged out Olympia 4-3. The victory was some much needed relief for the Wolves as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.

Meanwhile, Bishop Moore made easy work of Oviedo on Wednesday and carried off a 12-6 win. The result was nothing new for the Hornets, who have now won seven matchups by six runs or more so far this season.

Jason Forgey looked comfortable as he tossed 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been consistent : he hasn't given up more than two walks any time he's pitched this season.

On the hitting side, Nate Davis was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in February. Danny Garcia was another key player, firing off two home runs and four RBI while going 2-for-3.

Bishop Moore always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .528. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Oviedo only posted an OBP of .371.

The victory made it two in a row for Bishop Moore and bumps their season record up to 16-5. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 7 runs in those games. As for Timber Creek, their victory bumped their record up to 13-7.

Timber Creek took their win against Bishop Moore in their previous matchup back in March of 2024 by a conclusive 7-1 score. Do the Wolves have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Hornets turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
