The Alhambra Lions had to start their season on the road on Tuesday, and it wasn't the start they were hoping for. They took a 49-45 hit to the loss column at the hands of Maricopa. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Alhambra in their matchups with Maricopa: they've now lost three in a row.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Maricopa to victory, but perhaps none more so than Kylie Gardner , who scored 13 points. Another player making a difference was Taylor Santiago, who scored 12 points.

Alhambra's loss dropped their record down to 0-1. As for Maricopa, their win bumped their record up to 1-2.
