Baseball Recap: Radford's Victory on Thursday Extends Winning Streak to Three

Radford entered their tilt with Giles on Thursday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They put the hurt on the Spartans with a sharp 10-1 victory. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 22-2 last Wednesday.

Mason Murphy made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Murphy was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 1-for-3.

In other batting news, Jackson Johnson and Hayden Joyce did most of the damage at the plate: Johnson scored a run while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances, while Joyce went 2-for-5 with one home run and four RBI. Blake Farmer was another key player, scoring two runs while going 2-for-4.

Radford kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least 11 hits in three consecutive games.

Radford's record now sits at 3-1. As for Giles, their loss dropped their record down to 1-6-1.

Looking ahead, Radford will challenge Patrick County at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Giles, they will square off against Bland County at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
