Soccer Game Preview: Foothill vs. Amador Valley

Foothill and Amador Valley are an even 4-4-2 against one another since January of 2019, but likely not for long. The Foothill Falcons will look to defend their home pitch on Thursday against the Amador Valley Dons at 6:30 p.m. Foothill's last three contests have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

Amador Valley will have to contend with a Foothill team hungry for a victory, something the squad hasn't seen since January 4. Foothill and California finished up their matchup with a 2-2 draw on Tuesday. The win was some much needed relief for the Falcons as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.

Meanwhile, while it was all tied up 1-1 at halftime, Amador Valley was not quite Dougherty Valley's equal in the second half on Tuesday. They fell 3-1 to the Wildcats. The loss continues a trend for the Dons in their matchups with the Wildcats: they've now lost five in a row.

Foothill's draw gives them a new season record of 5-11-3. As for Amador Valley, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-11-6.

Foothill was able to grind out a solid victory over Amador Valley in their previous meeting back in December of 2024, winning 2-0. Will Foothill repeat their success, or does Amador Valley have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
