Baseball Recap: Great Hearts Northern Oaks Comes Up Short

Great Hearts Northern Oaks was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 5-4 heartbreaker at the hands of the Marion Bulldogs. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Bulldogs this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 7-2 back in March.

Joe Hicks made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored a run while going 2-for-2. He also hit a double, marking his first of the season.

Great Hearts Northern Oaks now has a losing record of 8-9. As for Marion, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-4 record this season.
