Softball Recap: Tarboro Comes Up Short

After soaring to 38 runs the game before, Tarboro was a bit more limited in their matchup on Tuesday. They lost 19-1 to the Gates County Red Barons. The Vikings have struggled against the Red Barons recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive lost meeting.

Marianna Bryant made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored a run and stole five bases while getting on base in both of her plate appearances. Bryant is crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: she's snagged at least two every time she's taken the field this season.

Tarboro now has a losing record of 2-3. As for Gates County, with the win, they broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 5-6.

While Tarboro had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
